Strawberry Cream Cheese Heart Danishes

Adorable, flaky heart-shaped pastries filled with sweet vanilla cream cheese and fresh strawberries. Perfect for a romantic breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

1 sheet store-bought puff pastry, thawed
4 oz cream cheese, at room temperature
2 tbsp white sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 drop natural red food coloring (optional)
1/2 cup diced fresh strawberries
1 large egg
1 tbsp cold water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Roll out puff pastry. Mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in strawberries.
  3. Cut pastry into 4 squares. Add filling to center of each. Fold corners to form heart shape, pinching to seal.
  4. Whisk egg with water. Brush pastry with egg wash. Bake for 14-17 mins until golden. Cool before serving.

Notes

  • Keep puff pastry cold for best results. Ensure strawberries are well-drained.
  • Reheat leftovers in a toaster oven to regain crispness.
