A refreshing, no-bake layered dessert featuring tangy key lime curd mousse and buttery graham cracker crumbs.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (divided)
4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
2 cups heavy whipping cream (chilled)
8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup key lime juice
1 tablespoon key lime zest
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix 1 cup graham cracker crumbs with melted butter. Reserve the remaining 1/2 cup crumbs for layering.
  2. Press the buttered crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of a glass serving dish or individual jars.
  3. In a chilled bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form and set aside.
  4. In a separate large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until it reaches a smooth consistency.
  5. Add the powdered sugar, key lime juice, zest, and vanilla extract to the cream cheese and beat until fully combined and creamy.
  6. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture using a spatula until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  7. Spread half of the lime filling over the prepared graham cracker base.
  8. Sprinkle a portion of the reserved dry crumbs over the cream layer.
  9. Add the remaining lime filling on top, smoothing it out with a spoon.
  10. Top with the remaining crumbs and additional lime zest for garnish.
  11. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to allow the layers to set before serving.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, you can substitute layers of angel food cake for half of the graham cracker crumbs.
  • Use fresh key limes whenever possible for the best aromatic flavor.
