A safe-to-eat, vibrant red velvet cookie dough that balances rich cocoa and sweet vanilla for the ultimate no-bake treat.

Ingredients

Scale

1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 tablespoon red food coloring
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Heat treat the flour: Place flour in a bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals until it reaches 160 F, or bake at 350 F for 5 minutes. Let cool completely.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the milk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until the color is uniform.
  4. Whisk together the cooled heat-treated flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  6. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  7. Serve immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Ensure flour is completely cool before mixing to prevent melting the butter.
  • Add a tiny bit more milk if the dough is too dry.
