A fudgy, decadent homemade version of the classic childhood snack, topped with rich chocolate ganache and colorful candy chips.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs (room temperature)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup heavy cream
4 oz semisweet chocolate (chopped)
Pinch of salt
23 tbsp rainbow candy-coated chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F and line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and whisk with sugars. Add cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla.
  3. Whisk in eggs one at a time until the batter is glossy.
  4. Stir in flour and cornstarch until just combined.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Let cool completely.
  6. Heat heavy cream and pour over chopped chocolate. Let sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth.
  7. Spread ganache over cooled brownies and top with rainbow chips.
  8. Chill for 30-60 minutes before slicing into 16 squares.

Notes

  • Use Dutch-process cocoa for the best color and flavor.
  • Ensure brownies are completely cool before adding ganache to prevent melting.
